Hi, my name is LaTisha Weekes and I am a senior nursing student attending the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico Metropolitan Campus. I was born and raised on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. I have always dreamt of becoming a nurse and I am now a couple more steps away from turning that dream into a reality. Upon graduating with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, I look forward to taking the NCLEX and passing it on the first try. I would also like to further my studies and obtain my master's degree to become a Nurse Practitioner. Nursing to me is not just about getting up everyday and going to work to get paid. It is about looking forward to helping someone that needs assistance and being able to place a smile on their face, even through difficult situations. I believe everyone has a purpose in life and mines is to help people in whatever way I can. Nursing is a profession that has many components to it and no one should limit themselves. The sky is the limit and I know that I will continue to go beyond what is expected. I want to be able to make a difference in someone's life and continue to help others along the way. I know that I am destined for greatness and making a difference.
